Your Opportunity + Impact
LDG is currently seeking qualified Construction Inspectors for heavy Civil and Water/Wastewater type projects in Canandaigua, NY. Candidates with experience in water/wastewater treatment plants, roadway construction, and trench work will be considered. Project documentation requires detailed daily reports with basic computer skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspects, observes, and documents construction activities for Civil and /or Transportation projects including description of contractor work activities, labor and equipment identification and quantity, and performance of various measurements of payment.
- Uses computer software programs to document observations and create inspection reports.
- Continuously monitors work of contractors and communicates regularly with project team to ensure timely completion of project.
- Interacts with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, government agency representatives, and other parties on a regular basis.
- Communicates information, responds to inquiries, and helps resolve field issues to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Responsible for obtaining and maintaining required certifications.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Utilizes technical references appropriately for the inspection of structural, concrete, earthwork, building, and mechanical components.
Education and Experience
- GED or high school diploma required.
- Licensures/Certifications: NICET Level II or higher in Highway Construction, NECEPT Bituminous Field & Concrete, and ACI preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Construction Inspection experience preferred.
- Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
- Must possess valid driver’s license.
